Summary: The Reliability Engineer will lead failure analysis and reliability strategy for Battery Management Systems and power conversion systems within a cutting-edge engineering organization. This role requires a strong background in reliability engineering, particularly in high-power electronic systems, and involves shaping reliability processes and supporting validation activities. The position is initially a 3-month contract with potential for extension up to 12 months, classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing reliability analysis across electronic components and systems
  • Developing failure rate models and reliability metrics
  • Using tools such as Medini Analyze for analysis and modelling
  • Supporting FMEA / FMECA / durability analysis activities
  • Designing and defining reliability and durability test plans
  • Supporting testing, validation, and analysis of results
  • Recommending design improvements to enhance system reliability
  • Collaborating with systems and test teams to embed reliability best practices

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in Reliability Engineering (10+ years preferred)
  • Background in electronics / power electronics systems
  • Experience with reliability tools such as Medini Analyze (or similar)
  • Proven experience in failure analysis and reliability modelling (FMEA/FMECA, MTBF, etc.)
  • Experience working on high voltage / high power systems
  • Experience designing and executing reliability test programmes

Join our latest project! We’re supporting a cutting-edge engineering organisation developing Battery Management Systems (BMS) and power conversion systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and are now looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer to lead failure analysis and reliability strategy across complex electronic systems. This role will suit engineers with a strong background in reliability engineering within high-power electronic systems, who can work independently and bring immediate expertise into a team currently building out its reliability capability. You’ll play a key role in shaping reliability processes, influencing design decisions, and supporting validation activities on a critical long-term project. This would be an initial 3 month contract, outside of IR35. There is scope for up to 12 months work available on these projects.
