Summary: The Reliability Engineer role at a World Class Defence Organisation involves supporting the preparation of Reliability Programme Plans and conducting reliability activities throughout the lifecycle of complex electronic systems. This hybrid position allows for 50% remote work and 50% onsite work at either the Bristol or Stevenage site, depending on the candidate's preference. The contract is initially for 12 months with the potential for ongoing long-term engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of Reliability Programme Plans in accordance with Def Stan 00-40.
- Conduct system and sub-system reliability activities aligned with the Reliability Programme Plan.
- Derive appropriate reliability requirements and prepare reliability and maintainability predictions.
- Produce FMECAs tailored to specific project needs.
- Create and manage critical items lists.
- Plan and support reliability tests, analyze results, and exploit test evidence from non-reliability sources.
- Provide support to internal and external project Reliability Panels and Committees.
- Ensure that reliability requirements have been achieved with support from systems teams.
Key Skills:
- Experience in reliability engineering, particularly with complex electronic systems.
- Knowledge of Def Stan 00-40 and reliability programme planning.
- Ability to conduct FMECAs and reliability predictions.
- Strong analytical skills for test result analysis.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with project panels and committees.
- Experience in managing critical items lists.
