The Role
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to own and manage software releases across multiple squads, applications, and platforms.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and executing releases while ensuring smooth deployment, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, and minimal disruption to business operations.
This role requires strong collaboration with Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Business teams in an Agile delivery environment.
Your responsibilities
- Own and manage end-to-end release planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution across multiple Agile squads and technology platforms.
- Develop and maintain release calendars, ensuring alignment of release activities, dependencies, and milestones across teams.
- Coordinate with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, QA teams, DevOps, and Business stakeholders to ensure release readiness.
- Facilitate release governance meetings, CAB (Change Advisory Board) reviews, and go/no-go decision-making processes.
- Identify, track, and mitigate release risks, issues, dependencies, and conflicts to ensure smooth production deployments.
- Ensure all release documentation, deployment plans, rollback procedures, and approvals are completed and maintained.
- Monitor release execution and post-deployment activities, including validation, incident management, and stabilization support.
- Drive continuous improvement of release management processes, tools, automation, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, change management processes, security requirements, and audit controls.
- Provide regular release status updates, metrics, and reporting to leadership and key stakeholders.
Your Profile
- Proven experience managing and delivering releases across multiple Agile squads, products, and technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of Release Management, Change Management, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and risk management capabilities with the ability to manage complex dependencies and critical production releases.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience
- Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices, Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, and Service Management frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and incident management tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or AppDynamics.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, PMP, or Release Management certifications.
