Release Manager contractors are expected to combine strong process management skills with enough technical literacy to engage credibly with engineering teams on deployment architecture and risk. Experience managing release processes within ITIL or similar service management frameworks is a common requirement, alongside familiarity with the tooling used to manage releases including Jira, ServiceNow for change management, and the CI/CD pipeline tools used to automate deployment processes.
