Regulatory Technician

Summary: The Regulatory Technician role is focused on supporting the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in maintaining the organization's regulatory compliance framework. The position involves close collaboration with the Regulatory Lead and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking, monitoring, and reporting of regulatory obligations. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance-focused professional with strong systems administration skills to contribute to Bass Strait operations. The role is based in Melbourne and is a 12-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the RegFrame compliance system, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and current.
  • Coordinate the quarterly Regulatory Compliance Deliverables Report, including tracking responses and updating compliance records.
  • Support asset teams and stakeholders in the use of RegFrame and completion of required compliance activities.
  • Monitor outstanding compliance actions and overdue items, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Compile and distribute regular compliance status reports and stakeholder updates.
  • Track changes in legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to the business.
  • Maintain the Legislation Summary Register and ensure updates are reflected within RegFrame.
  • Assist with the development and coordination of compliance plans.
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of regulatory compliance KPIs.
  • Provide administrative support for compliance reviews and audits.
  • Maintain regulatory documents, registers, and tracking systems to ensure information remains current and accurate.
  • Monitor compliance reporting requirements and support timely regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in preparing and issuing HSE regulatory communications.
  • Monitor shared regulatory inboxes and ensure document control processes are followed.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Regulatory team.

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with compliance systems, databases, or regulatory management platforms.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Regulatory Technician to support the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in maintaining and administering the organisation's regulatory compliance framework. Working closely with the Regulatory Lead, HSE team, and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory obligations are accurately tracked, monitored, and reported to maintain ongoing compliance and license to operate.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a compliance-focused professional with strong systems administration and reporting capabilities to contribute to a high-performing team supporting Bass Strait operations.

Key Responsibilities

RegFrame & Compliance Systems Administration

  • Maintain and update the RegFrame compliance system, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and current.
  • Coordinate the quarterly Regulatory Compliance Deliverables Report, including tracking responses and updating compliance records.
  • Support asset teams and stakeholders in the use of RegFrame and completion of required compliance activities.
