Summary: The role of Regulatory Reporting Audit SME Consultant involves providing expert guidance on regulatory reporting audits within Finance, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting. The consultant will focus on COREP, LCR, and PRA 110 reporting, offering technical expertise and support for control assessments and stakeholder engagement. This contract position requires strong banking regulatory reporting and audit experience, along with the ability to coach audit team members. The engagement spans 150 hours from June to July 2026, based in a hybrid model in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an expert opinion on the effectiveness of the regulatory reporting control environment.
- Review regulatory reporting policies, procedures, governance and controls.
- Advise on key risks, regulatory expectations and common industry challenges relating to COREP, LCR and PRA 110.
- Support testing of key controls over the preparation and submission of regulatory returns.
- Assist with substantive testing of selected reporting line items to assess completeness, accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings for fact checking, walkthroughs, observation discussions and issue validation.
- Identify control weaknesses, reporting risks and potential audit findings.
- Support the drafting of clear, practical audit observations and recommendations.
- Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to audit team members to build capability in regulatory reporting.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in regulatory reporting, internal audit, finance controls, treasury, or risk within banking or financial services.
- Deep understanding of COREP, LCR and PRA 110 reporting requirements.
- Experience reviewing governance, process flows, reconciliations, data sourcing and control frameworks supporting regulatory returns.
- Proven capability in performing detailed testing of regulatory reports and underlying source data.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including interaction with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Regulatory Reporting and Audit teams.
- Ability to translate technical findings into concise audit observations and actionable recommendations.
- Experience coaching or supporting less experienced team members.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Reporting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the delivery of two linked audits within Finance, Treasury & Regulatory Reporting . The successful consultant will provide technical expertise on the regulatory reporting control environment, with particular focus on COREP, LCR and PRA 110 reporting. This is a contract engagement suited to an individual with strong banking regulatory reporting and audit experience, who can support control assessment, substantive testing, stakeholder engagement and audit team coaching.

Contract Requirements
