Summary: This role is for a Band 5 Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, available as a secondment for 5 months due to maternity cover. The position requires a motivated nurse with a keen interest in cardiology, responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care throughout the patient journey in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and support junior staff while demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Admit, care for, and discharge patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Prepare patients pre-procedure and ensure aftercare post-procedure.
- Scrub and assist during procedures in the Lab.
- Pre-assess patients prior to their appointments.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, radiographers, and cardiac physiologists to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Build strong working relationships and support junior team members.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated nurse to work at the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory as a Band 5 Registered Nurse. We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with a genuine interest in cardiology and intervention, keen to be involved in this expanding and dynamic service. You should possess excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills. The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. The candidate must be an excellent role model and be capable of building strong working relationships and be able to develop and support junior members of the team.
Main duties of the job
To admit, care for and discharge patients through their journey in the Cardiac Cath Lab. This entails preparing patients pre procedure and ensuring their aftercare post procedure on the ward; to scrub and run during their procedures in the Lab; and to pre-assess patients prior to their appointment. The Cardiac Cath Lab team consists of Doctors, nurses, radiographers and cardiac physiologist who all work together to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the patient. All the procedures carried out in the Cardiac Cath Lab require all disciplines to work together and the team is only as strong as it's weakest link, making this a team that works cohesively together, valuing and respecting one another. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
