Refresh Engineer

Summary: The Refresh Engineer role involves supporting a PC hardware refresh project for 5000 end users at a major international insurance company, primarily based on-site in Swindon. The engineer will work closely with the project team to manage hardware builds, updates, and logistics while ensuring compliance with data handling guidelines. The position requires strong technical skills, particularly with Windows 11, and the ability to work under pressure in a team environment. The role is expected to last for over three months and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the Project team to build and ship replacement hardware devices.
• Manage the lifecycle of the builds allocated and prioritize work to effectively achieve the Project targets.
• Keep the Project managers and deployment schedule updated throughout the length of the project.
• Update the Asset Management when devices are deployed and received.
• Prepare machines for Shipping including booking couriers and making sure paperwork is accurate.
• Where necessary physically deliver devices to end users on the client site and assist with their rollout.
• Work closely with the Asset Manager on periodic stock counts and audits of project stock.
• Recommend improvements to Project Management and participate in the implementation of them where appropriate.

Key Skills:

• Previous PC Build or Deskside experience with Windows 11.
• MS Excel experience.
• Awareness of GDPR guidelines on personal data handling.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with tight deliverables.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to accuracy and ability to follow governance processes.
• Experience with M365, Autopilot, Intune, ServiceNow (beneficial but training provided).
• Full driving licence and access to a car (desirable but not essential).

Salary (Rate): £220
