Summary: The Recovery Champion role at Change Grow Live is designed for individuals with lived experience of substance misuse who are currently unemployed. This fixed-term position focuses on empowering service users by assisting them in creating recovery plans and connecting them with community resources. The role emphasizes compassion and support within a team environment, aiming to help individuals reintegrate into the workforce and improve their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist people in setting up recovery plans with realistic goals.
• Familiarize with local services and community resources to aid recovery.
• Provide a welcoming environment in the open-access area.
• Create links with local communities to reach isolated individuals.
• Attend team meetings and group supervision for best practices.
• Meet individuals in the community to discuss personal recovery goals.
• Utilize local resources and raise community awareness.
• Assist the Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator in identifying support opportunities.
• Demonstrate flexibility across various service activities.

Key Skills:

• Lived experience or relevant experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse.
• Currently out of work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• IT skills.
• Willingness to undertake training and evaluation.
• Ability to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs.
• Empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards service users.
• Confidence in working independently and as part of a team.
