Reconciliation Accountant
- Location: West London (Hybrid, 2-3 days on site)
- Job Type: Full-time, Interim to end of December 2026
- Day Rate: Circa £180-190 per day
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Reconciliations:
- Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for all bank and short-term deposit related accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in account balances.
- Liaise with processing teams on any differences, outstanding issues, or unusual balances.
- Prepare and process correction journals as required.
- Prepare monthly reports on bank and short-term deposit related accounts and variances identified.
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Ensure interest and FX transactions are posted correctly.
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and other accounting documents.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Keep all reconciliation procedural documentation up to date.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and financial regulations.
- Support the Financial Accounting team during quarterly reviews.
- Escalate any concerns around fraudulent transactions to management.
- Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements.
- Project Work:
- Support with bank and cash-related projects and grants investigation as requested by the Senior Financial Accountant.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field (numerical degree preferred).
- Qualified (AAT) or Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CCAB, ACA) or similar level of qualification.
- Experience with bank and deposit accounts and in a similar accounting role.
- Proficient in reconciling complex bank and short-term deposit accounts independently.
- Detailed working knowledge of accounting software (ideally Oracle) and cash management systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks with limited supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
