React / Full Stack Engineer

Summary: The React / Full Stack Engineer role is a contract position based in Sheffield, requiring an experienced professional to join a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in React.js development and a strong understanding of modern JavaScript, design systems, and Backbase CXP. This position emphasizes building scalable and accessible applications while adhering to best practices in test-driven development and REST API integration. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable, accessible, and responsive applications using React.js.
• Implement state management using Redux, Hooks, and Context API.
• Integrate REST APIs and follow error handling best practices.
• Translate UX wireframes into responsive, accessible UIs.
• Utilize modern libraries such as Material UI and Bootstrap.
• Engage in test-driven development using Jest and React Testing Library.
• Collaborate within an Agile team through sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
• Document processes and maintain clear communication with team members.

Key Skills:

• 5–7 years of hands-on React.js development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6–ES2020), HTML5, CSS3, and CSS-in-JS.
• Experience with Backbase CXP and Forms products.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Postman, and AppDynamics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms, automation, or banking IT.

Salary (Rate): £325 per day
