Summary: The React Developer role is a contract position focused on enhancing a modern web platform through the development and maintenance of frontend UI functionality. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in web UI development, particularly with React, and will work collaboratively within a cross-functional team. This position requires a proactive approach to delivering high-quality solutions and the ability to operate autonomously. The contract is initially for six months with a strong possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, QA, and product managers
- Design, develop, and maintain frontend functionality and services
- Deliver new features and enhancements across a modern web platform
- Work with technologies including React, TypeScript, Webpack, REST APIs, JSON, Docker, and Ansible
- Prototype solutions, analyse requirements, and contribute to technical design
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code aligned with engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews
- Take ownership of deliverables and contribute independently within the team
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline
- 6+ years of commercial web UI development experience using modern frameworks (React preferred)
- Strong understanding of cross-browser development and responsive design
- Hands-on experience with Git, version control workflows, and development environment setup
- Experience integrating with APIs and microservices
- Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and SAFe
- Good understanding of QA standards, testing practices, and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders
