Summary: The Quotations Engineer role at NES Fircroft involves collaborating with customers and internal teams to develop and deliver quote packages for power technology projects. This position requires ownership of opportunities from bid decision to quote submission, including cost estimation and project scope definition. The engineer will also interact with various stakeholders to ensure manufacturability and technical feasibility of proposals. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office located in Worcester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and interact with engineers, customers, and sales team throughout the bid process
- Help customers understand minimum requirements defining the RfQ package
- Define project scope in consultation with customers and MSL
- Liaise with customers and technical experts to develop product definitions
- Take ownership of opportunity from bid decision to quote submission
- Identify subcon requirements and liaise with subcontractors at quoting stage
- Provide ROM quotes and business case calculations to internal and external Sales team
- Receive inputs from cross-functional teams to develop costing and understand technical challenges
- Complete formal quote documentation and provide quote package to sales team
- Maintain and manage quote process and tools
Key Skills:
- Experience of engineering or sales within a manufacturing business
- Experience generating project proposals and costing
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and employed manufacturing methods
- Experience in customer-facing role
- Project management experience would be beneficial
- Basic experience in CAD packages at a minimum (NX or similar)
- Experience with Additive manufacturing preparation suites (Magics or similar) would be beneficial
- Competent in MS Office, especially Excel
- Comfortable presenting technical solutions to customers and negotiating project scope
