Summary: The role of Quantity Surveyor involves a 6-month interim assignment in South Birmingham, focusing on the development of contract documentation and procurement within Housing Property Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial measurement, valuation of works, and preparing project-related financial reports. This position requires a proactive professional dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes in contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare contract documents including Tenders, Bills of Quantities, Work Schedules, Specifications, and Schedule of Rates.
- Procure goods, services, and works contracts, including participation in tender evaluations and reporting outcomes.
- Undertake site measurements and valuation of works, preparing payment notifications and associated documentation.
- Prepare and agree costs for variations and non-standard items of work.
- Analyse and agree claims and final accounts.
- Produce accurate financial reports for projects and contracts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standard methods of measurement and standard forms of contracts.
- Assess, collate, and present leaseholder contributions and service charges, conducting reviews where required.
- Assist and prepare any relevant returns associated with Government or Regulator requirements, and external funding providers.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in the Construction Industry, covering pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties.
- Knowledge of various forms of building contracts.
- Proven experience in budget management (revenue, capital, and external funding sources).
- Experience of creating and issuing relevant contract administration documents.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Knowledge of UK H&S regulations including CDM.

The position is office based , 37 hours a week with some site attendance.
