Summary: The Quantity Surveyor role involves managing the commercial delivery of mechanical and electrical packages for a major power generation project in the West Midlands. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the commercial delivery of mechanical and electrical packages
  • Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts specific to M&E works
  • Procurement and management of M&E subcontractors and suppliers
  • Contract administration (NEC or similar forms)
  • Managing variations, valuations, and change control on M&E elements
  • Preparing interim applications, valuations, and final accounts
  • Monitoring costs, identifying risks, and driving value engineering opportunities
  • Working closely with project, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are met

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services (HVAC, pipework, cabling, etc.)
  • Experience working on complex, high-value projects within sectors such as power, industrial, or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts (or similar)
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages through the full lifecycle
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Building Services

H9 Talent Solutions are working with a leading contractor delivering a major power generation project in the West Midlands, and are looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale, technically complex project, taking responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages from procurement through to final account.
