RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans
- Monitor project costs, risks and financial exposure
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts and cost reports
- Manage procurement and tendering activities
- Prepare tender documentation, BoQs and pricing schedules
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders
- Administer NEC construction contracts
- Manage variations, change orders and contractual claims
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
- Assess subcontractor applications and payment certificates
- Identify commercial risks and support value engineering
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Strong knowledge of UK construction practices
- NEC contract experience
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Experience with cost management, procurement and contract administration
- Experience managing variations, claims and final accounts
- Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related subject
DESIRABLE
- RICS, CIOB or similar professional membership
- Experience working on large-scale construction or transformation projects
- Strong NEC contract administration experience
- Experience within complex engineering, manufacturing or infrastructure environments
