Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial and contractual aspects of utility projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare, manage, and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate forecasting to support project planning and delivery.
- Oversee contract administration, including handling variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve disputes.
- Provide commercial advice to the project team.
- Support procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations.
- Monitor project progress, track costs, and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with NEC and JCT contracts and all relevant industry regulations.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the utilities sector (gas, water, electricity, or telecoms).
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Ability to travel to sites across the North West as required.
