Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial and contractual aspects of utility projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare, manage, and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate forecasting to support project planning and delivery.
  • Oversee contract administration, including handling variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve disputes.
  • Provide commercial advice to the project team.
  • Support procurement, tendering, and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Monitor project progress, track costs, and report any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC and JCT contracts and all relevant industry regulations.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the utilities sector (gas, water, electricity, or telecoms).
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • Ability to travel to sites across the North West as required.
