Summary: This role as a Quantity Surveyor at Rubicon Consulting involves providing commercial support for projects in the power sector, focusing on contract administration using NEC3 and NEC4 forms. The position requires estimating experience and entails managing financial aspects, reporting, and subcontractor accounts while ensuring compliance with risk management procedures. The Quantity Surveyor will also support project delivery teams and mentor junior personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly internal and client reporting in accordance with contract procedures.
  • Optimize cash flow through activity schedules, monthly valuations, and subcontractor account control.
  • Drive recovery of outstanding payments and resolve queries promptly.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and manage change events according to contract requirements.
  • Produce cost estimates and manage subcontract inquiries for tenders and compensation events.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management and financial compliance procedures.
  • Record commercial KPI data and maintain payment timelines.
  • Prepare and manage sub-contracts through to Final Account agreement.
  • Maximize project profitability while maintaining client and subcontractor relations.
  • Assist in tender management and costing activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Support the development of junior team members through guidance and training needs assessment.

Key Skills:

  • 3 years’ relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related subject.
  • Estimating experience.
  • Experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, technology, and NEC 3 and NEC4 contracts (Options A & C).
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and analyze project programmes.
