Summary: The Quality Manager role in Bolton involves overseeing quality systems and performance within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the internal audit programme in alignment with AS9100 standards.
- Own and drive structured problem investigations, including root cause analysis for quality issues, non-conformances, and systemic failures.
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure sustained resolution.
- Support QMS maintenance, updates, and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist the business in delivering awareness of the requirements of relevant certification.
- Track and report on audit outcomes, non-conformance trends, and resolution performance using KPIs and dashboards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement.
- Deliver structured updates and communicate risks effectively to client leadership.

- Experienced Quality Manager with strong, hands-on expertise in AS9100 internal auditing and quality system compliance.
- Demonstratable experience of hosting / working with 2nd and 3rd party auditors.
- Ability to generate procedures and processes to improve or update existing QMS.
- Skilled in structured problem-solving tools: 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone, etc.
- Demonstrated success in resolving complex quality issues across manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- Effective stakeholder communicator, comfortable driving improvement initiatives across all functional levels.
- Aerospace industry background preferred; experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing also considered valuable.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, CQI Diploma in quality or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in aerospace or defence.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 Rev D.
- IRCA Certified AS EN 9100 Auditor / Lead Auditor.
- Experience with internal auditing, QMS documentation, and audit report writing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ideally, a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
