Summary: The Quality Management Specialist role at Birmingham International Airport involves supporting the Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver independent assurance of CAMO personnel competence, processes, and procedures
- Ensure compliance of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) with regulatory standards
- Conduct and support CAMO audit activities across internal teams, maintenance organisations, and subcontractors
- Monitor adherence to MAA Regulatory Articles (RA 4900–4974) and MRP Part M requirements
- Validate procedures, manage changes, and perform product sampling and compliance checks
- Oversee subcontracted CAMO activities, ensuring clear governance, accountability, and resource control
- Support assurance of maintenance activities to maintain aircraft airworthiness
- Facilitate corrective action processes, reporting findings and escalating risks where required
Key Skills:
- Strong background in CAMO, airworthiness, or aviation quality management
- Experience conducting audits within regulated aviation environments (e.g. MAA, Part M/145)
- Knowledge of defence airworthiness regulations and compliance frameworks
- Ability to manage stakeholder engagement across engineering, maintenance, and delivery teams
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action management
- Desirable: Auditor training (AS9100/AS9110) and CAMO regulatory knowledge
- Understanding of human factors, maintenance standards, and defence audit processes
- Familiarity with information management tools and lifecycle systems
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance is essential
