Summary: The Quality Lead role is focused on ensuring the successful delivery of critical project work, emphasizing quality assurance across fabrication, supplier management, and on-site installation within the nuclear and defence sectors. The position requires a proactive individual with a strong QA/QC background, capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated industries and be eligible for SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee quality assurance of small to medium steel fabrications including walkways, platforms, aperture plates, frames, and impact barriers.
- Monitor suppliers and site activities to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and schedules.
- Act as the primary quality interface between fabricators, on-site teams, and internal project management.
- Prepare, collate, and maintain quality documentation in line with Nuclear/Defence industry standards.
- Support quality inspections during installation and commissioning, on site.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Quality Lead or QA/QC specialist in Nuclear, Defence, Construction, or relevant Manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel between sites UK-wide (Bury, Derbyshire, Reading).
- Eligibility for SC Clearance (British National or 5+ years residency in the UK).

Contract: 6-12 months – Rate £ Competitive (dependent on experience) – Outside IR35.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 39 hours per week.
