Summary: The Quality Inspector role at Rapiscan Systems involves supporting the Quality Assurance team within the Advance Detection Systems business. The position is crucial for ensuring that X-ray systems meet world-class quality standards, including conducting inspections and testing throughout the production process. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming material inspection/testing.
  • Conduct in-process inspection and testing, including Radiation Surveys.
  • Perform outgoing verification and validation inspection/testing on final products.
  • Input inspection and test data into databases and write inspection/test reports.
  • Complete reports and check data prior to the release of final products.
  • Produce and input into inspection and control plans as required.
  • Ensure non-conforming products are correctly identified and assist MRB with disposition.
  • Undertake or assist in corrective actions, including containment and corrective actions.
  • Assist with calibration control and process/quality audits.
  • Other activities as requested by line management.

Key Skills:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Quality Inspector in an Electromechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 quality standards.
  • Experience with CMM, FARO Arm, and general measuring equipment.
  • Ability to follow test procedures to verify final equipment release.
  • Proficient at interpreting Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
  • IT skills, able to use Office365 applications competently.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Positive proactive attitude and self-motivated.

The role is an important part of our quality team that ensures world class standards of our X-ray systems used in the security screening market, enabling Rapiscan to provide the highest quality, and most reliable, detection devices in the industry . To carry out quality inspections and final acceptance testing of our X-ray systems. This includes, goods receipt, in-build, final assembly operations and packaging checks. Provide input into quality inspection plans and control plans. Complete and issue test and inspection reports. Use of metrology equipment such as CMM, FARO Arm, Radiation measurement and specialist quality validation test apparatus. Responsibilities Perform incoming material inspection / testing.
