Summary: The Quality Inspector role involves inspecting products after delivery and before shipment to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements. The position includes responsibilities such as raising Non-Conformance Reports and liaising with suppliers regarding product quality. The role offers extensive training opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package. Occasional travel within the UK and potentially overseas may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The inspection and acceptance of products on delivery
  • The pre delivery verification of products prior to delivery to customer
  • The raising of formal Non-Conformance Reports where necessary
  • Liaison with suppliers on Non-Conformities
  • Communication of Non Conformance to all interested parties, QA, Project Managers, Commercial Managers
  • Participation in internal Contract Non-Conformance review meetings when required
  • Providing support to the Project manager with verification of product as required, may include RFQ and related Order placement
  • Labelling and tagging product when applicable
  • Control and archiving of Contract related product Purchasing and material certification
  • There may be some travel mainly in the UK but Overseas travel may be required from time to time

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of measuring equipment, (verniers, micrometres)
  • The ability to understand and interpret Engineering drawings / data sheets
  • Experience in interpreting clients’ technical specifications
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft std packages
  • Full UK Driving License
  • SC UK MOD Security clearance will be required and can be arranged once offers have been accepted
  • Time Served in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Desirable)
  • HNC/HND in Engineering (Desirable)
  • Understanding of ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements (Desirable)
  • Experience in Document Control (Desirable)
  • Experience in the Marine Industry (Desirable)
  • Experience with MoD contracts (Desirable)
  • Experience in the Fire Protection or Fire Detection industry (Desirable)

The role will involve the inspection of product after delivery and prior to shipment to customers. The products will be inspected to the related product datasheets, customer requirements and JCI and clients specifications.
