Summary: The Test QE Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and executing test plans to ensure software quality and functionality, with a focus on Java applications. The position requires collaboration with developers and product managers to develop effective testing strategies and automate testing processes. Candidates should have a strong background in software testing and quality assurance, ideally with active SC clearance. This is a hybrid position based in Telford, requiring two days per week on-site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Java applications.
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and design test strategies.
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools.
- Automate testing processes using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress and results.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in XML for data representation and manipulation.
- Experience in testing APIs and web services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for database testing.
- Familiarity with Vstride for performance testing.
- Proficient in using Git for version control.
- Experience with Gitlab for CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in Jenkins for automation and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Weblogic server for application deployment and testing.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux commands and Scripting.
- ISTQB Foundation certification in software testing.
