Summary: This role is for a Quality Engineer focused on mechanical process equipment and piping within a central Quality team, supporting a major client project on-site in Dalry, Scotland. The position involves ensuring quality standards during mechanical and piping installations, requiring close collaboration with delivery and construction teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead QA/QC activities across fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning.
- Interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and welding procedures to verify compliance.
- Conduct inspections on piping, welding, hydrotesting, flange management, and supports.
- Review ITPs, define witness/hold points, and ensure quality plans are implemented on site.
- Collaborate with construction teams, vendors, and subcontractors to drive quality outcomes.
- Manage non-conformances and ensure proper resolution of issues.
- Own quality documentation and handover dossiers for system completion.
- Support vendor inspections, SATs, and regulatory compliance with notified bodies.
Key Skills:
- Background in Mechanical Process Engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of piping systems, welding, and mechanical equipment installation.
- Knowledge of compliance standards/legislation - PSSR/PE(S)R and CDM (UK).
- Experience in inspection, QA/QC, and construction environments.
- Certifications such as CSWIP, API, CWI, or ISO 9001 (desirable).

Drive quality where it really matters. This is a contract opportunity within our central Quality team, supporting a major live client project on-site in Dalry. Based in the heart of Scotland’s industrial landscape, you’ll be embedded within the client environment, working closely with delivery and construction teams to ensure quality is upheld at every stage of mechanical and piping installation. It’s a highly visible, hands-on role where you’ll play a critical part in driving standards, influencing stakeholders, and ensuring compliance in a complex, fast-paced project setting - with real responsibility and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on project outcomes.
What you’ll be doing You’ll be at the heart of project delivery, ensuring mechanical and piping systems are built, installed and commissioned to the highest standards.
- Leading on QA/QC activities across fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning
