Summary: The Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor role involves conducting quality inspections and audit activities across various Nuclear supply chain sites in the UK. Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor, visiting various Nuclear supply chain sites across the UK as required.
  • Responsible for undertaking quality inspections / audit activities for a range of projects.
  • Conduct pre-audit visits and gap analysis of fabricators around the UK who are looking to attain or requalify for ISO 9001.
  • Prepare audit plan; write reports; perform follow-up; provide certification recommendations.
  • Ensure audit reports, finding evidence and auditor notes are submitted.
  • Ensure client non-conformities are closed, review and analyse client responses.
  • Provide answers to any requests arising during the technical review of files.
  • Ensure all quality and client records related to audit and certification activities are maintained and up to date.

Key Skills:

  • Relevant Engineering qualification.
  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2.
  • Previous or valid PCNs - combination of Radiographic, DPI, MPI and UT.
  • IRCA Auditor (International Register of Certificated Auditors).
  • Must have current & valid ISO 9001 External Auditing qualification.
  • 3 years Lead Audit experience, ideally at least 1 year external Lead Audit background.
  • Auditing experience within the Nuclear Supply Chain / Fabrication / Oil & Gas or similar environments.
  • Good knowledge of Quality Management systems.
  • Experience assisting & organising audit teams beneficial.
  • Client / stakeholder management experience.
  • Confident communication & presentation skills.

This would suit a contract Quality Engineer / Lead Auditor who has other clients and is looking to add to their portfolio.
