Responsibilities
- Design and implement test solutions and automation frameworks, often from the ground up
- Drive a shift-left Quality Engineering approach across the Scrum team
- Build automated testing into the CI/CD lifecycle and shorten feedback loops
- Apply TDD/BDD, risk-based testing and modern test design techniques
- Work across Unit, System, Functional, Integration and NFR testing
- Analyse complex business requirements, processes and technical architectures to shape the testing approach
- Work with test data and databases, ensuring appropriate test coverage and data management
- Help ensure applications are designed to be testable through automation
- Pair with developers and contribute across the wider product stack
- Coach and upskill engineers, embedding quality as a whole-team responsibility
- Support manual testing where automation isn't appropriate
- Produce and maintain high-quality testing collateral
- Work closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
