Key Responsibilities:

  • Non-conformance reporting and disposition of non-conformance reports.
  • Creation of customer concessions and verification of remedial work.
  • Conduct internal audits on business processes and create/update procedures.
  • Govern corrective and preventative actions throughout the business.
  • Review customer requirements at the contract review stage.
  • Ensure compliance of specific manufacturing processes.
  • Deputise for colleagues and undertake related tasks.
  • Carry out audits and product verification at supplier premises.
  • Process supplier concession requests and resolve customer complaints.
  • Maintain approved supplier records and ensure accuracy of supplier certification.
  • Work in compliance with the company’s health & safety policy.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in metrology and quality control.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 system certification and auditing.
  • Knowledge of materials, particularly metals, and national standards.
  • Experience in medium to heavy manufacturing using CNC equipment.
  • Computer literate with data management skills.
  • Ability to host customer representatives during audits.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
  • HNC in mechanical discipline; I.Q.A membership is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.

About Mtrecs new career opportunity Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking for an experienced Quality Engineerto join their team on a permanent basis.

The Job youll do

  • Non-conformance reporting, disposition of non-conformance reports, creation of customer concessions.
  • Verification and closure of remedial work, root cause analysis.
  • Customer deliverable documentation.
  • Preparation of test reports for delivered goods.
  • Upkeep of inspection & test plans for projects.
  • Conduct internal audits on business processes.
  • Creation and update of procedures, corrective/preventative action.
  • Governance of corrective & preventative action throughout the business.
  • Identify and execute corrective actions to resolve product & process issues.
  • Review of customer requirements at the contract review stage.
  • Creation and upkeep of inspection & test plans.
  • Ensure receipt and accuracy of supplier certification.
  • Maintenance of approved supplier records.
  • Carry out audits and product verification at supplier premises when necessary.
  • Processing supplier concession requests.
  • Customer complaints.
  • Resolution of customer complaints.
  • Ensure compliance of specific manufacturing processes to ensure they are compliant and effective.

About You

  • Experience of metrology and quality control is essential.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 system certification and auditing.
  • Experience of CMM and NDT is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of materials, in particular metals and experience of using various national standards.
  • Knowledge of foundries, forges and fabrication shops.
  • Have knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma or APQP is advantageous.
  • Be time served in a mechanical discipline and have experience of medium to heavy manufacturing to stringent tolerances using modern CNC capital equipment.
  • Computer literate and able to work quickly and accurately with data.
  • Have the ability to host customer and 2nd part representatives during product verification visits and audits.
  • Be willing to travel and work domestically and overseas is essential.
  • Be able to deal with customers at high level.
  • HNC mechanical minimum, I.Q.A with membership an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence.
