Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into customer and internal quality concerns, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D.
  • Manage and progress internal and customer NCRs, ensuring issues are effectively investigated and closed.
  • Review and resolve production quality and scrap issues through the MRB process.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support APQP activity within the assigned production area.
  • Support the development and implementation of PFMEAs, Control Plans and standardised process controls.
  • Analyse manufacturing and production data to identify trends and opportunities to improve quality performance.
  • Support process control measures, including SPC, to improve consistency and reduce process variation.
  • Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis where required.
  • Support Quality Engineering activity associated with new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Address supplier quality issues identified within the assigned production area.
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement activity from a Quality Engineering perspective.
  • Report on Quality KPIs and support ongoing quality improvement activity.
  • Work closely with Production, Process Engineering and Operations as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.

About You

  • Previous experience within Quality Engineering, Production Quality or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Strong practical knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action, ideally including 8D.
  • Experience managing NCRs, non-conformances and/or MRB activity.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good practical understanding of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with production teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Able to take ownership of quality issues and drive them through to resolution.
  • Available to work on-site in Gloucester Monday to Friday.

Desirable

  • Experience within automotive, aerospace, precision engineering or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Experience with SPC and process capability.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 environments.
  • Internal auditing experience.
  • Experience supporting Lean or continuous improvement activity.

Location: Gloucester

Contract: Inside IR35

Rate: £35-£42 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working pattern: Monday to Friday
