Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive quality assurance support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards. This role operates in a security-sensitive environment and requires SC Clearance. The position involves managing quality documentation, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong quality culture on-site. Outside IR35 payments can be accommodated for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end quality assurance support from project mobilisation through to final completion and close-out
- Review, assess, and formally accept procedures, method statements, inspection plans, and quality documentation in line with QC1 requirements and project standards
- Carry out quality control inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Verify compliance of works against drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements
- Manage the ongoing review, verification, and final acceptance of Lifetime Records (LTRs) and quality documentation
- Ensure quality records are complete, accurate, and fully traceable for final handover
- Undertake final release inspections to confirm works are complete and compliant prior to client acceptance
- Witness testing and inspections as required, including site-based and off-site / factory testing
- Ensure test results and inspection outcomes are accurately recorded and reported
- Attend and contribute to quality, technical, and progress meetings
- Provide clear reporting and professional input on quality-related matters
- Interface effectively with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
- Promote and maintain a strong quality culture across the project
- Identify quality issues and non-conformances, supporting investigation, corrective actions, and close-out
- Maintain accurate, auditable quality records in line with project, client, and regulatory requirements
