Summary: The Quality Control Laboratory Technician at AnalytiChem UK is responsible for routine testing of microbiological media, including sterility checks and pH testing, within a Clean Room Suite. The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to perform manual lifting. The technician will also engage in environmental monitoring and maintain accurate records in the Laboratory Information System. This position is integral to ensuring the quality of products manufactured by the company, which has a strong focus on growth and expansion in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of test samples and logging information within the Laboratory Information System (LIMs)
- Performing the routine tests for all batches of media against product specifications, including pH, sterility and growth promotion
- Interpretation of results, including colony counting, and accurate completion of electronic records
- Assistance in maintaining the culture collection
- Performing water testing, including TVC and conductivity tests
- Incubation and reading of environmental monitoring samples, performing contact plates surface testing in clean rooms
- Assistance with trials and shelf life studies
- Accurate and careful completion of LIMs data to maintain traceability and maintenance of accurate paper records
- Observation of and adherence to all safety procedures
- This job requires moderate lifting and moving of trays containing plates

The Role We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Quality Control Laboratory Technician individual who can contribute to and share in our success. AnalytiChem UK manufactures pre-poured agar plates and bottled products within a Clean Room Suite. The role is part of our small team who are responsible for the routine testing of all prepared media manufactured on site, including sterility checks, pH testing and growth promotion testing. The Quality Control Laboratory Technicians are also involved in environmental monitoring, water testing and pressure monitoring of clean room suites. The role requires a keen eye for detail, accuracy and some manual lifting.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of test samples and logging information within the Laboratory Information System (LIMs)
- Performing the routine tests for all batches of media against product specifications, including pH, sterility and growth promotion (serial dilutions of control organisms, inoculating and incubating samples)
- Interpretation of results, including colony counting, and accurate completion of electronic records
- Assistance in maintaining the culture collection
- Performing water testing, including TVC and conductivity tests
- Incubation and reading of environmental monitoring samples, performing contact plates surface testing in clean rooms
- Assistance with trials and shelf life studies
- Accurate and careful completion of LIMs data to maintain traceability and maintenance of accurate paper records
