Summary: Bureau Veritas is seeking multiple Quality Control Inspectors for a prestigious UK Defence project near Reading, UK. The roles involve delivering independent inspection and quality control services for equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction, requiring Security Clearance and British citizenship. The contract is initially for 12 months and classified as outside IR35. Candidates must possess relevant experience and qualifications in the nuclear industry or similar high hazard sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors.
- Review fabrication/manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels.
- Ensure compliance with quality plans, ITPs, fabrication/manufacturing procedures, and welding procedures.
- Compile and review LTQRs.
Key Skills:
- Good working knowledge of UK inspection requirements in the nuclear industry or transferable experience from high hazard industries.
- Experience with nuclear and conventional codes and standards for pressure equipment.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Weld Inspector with relevant qualifications.
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2, PCN Level II Magnetic Particle Inspection, PCN Level II Dye Penetrant Testing, PCN Level II Radiographic Interpretation.

Bureau Veritas are excited to say that we have an opportunity for a number of QC Inspectors to work on a prestigious UK Defence project based near Reading, UK. This will be on a 12 Month initial Contract based outside of IR35. The roles are located at a highly secure working site and will require Security Clearance and therefore successful candidates must be a British Born UK passport holder.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication and construction.
- Equipment ranging from Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment to items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards and regulations.
- Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation and review of LTQR’s.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Have a good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
- Experience and understanding of nuclear and conventional codes and standards relating to pressure equipment and pressure systems including EN13445, EN13480, PD5500, ASME VIII plus associated material.
- Welding and NDE standards.
- Be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
Qualifications
- Weld Inspectors shall have a minimum of 5 years experience with the following qualifications CSWIP 3.1/3.2 PCN Level II Magnetic Particle Inspection or PCN Level II Dye Penetrant Testing PCN Level II Radiographic Interpretation
