Summary: The Quality Assurance Tester (Test Automation Engineer) role involves working on a significant digital transformation project, focusing on ensuring the quality and reliability of a next-generation data platform. This position requires a skilled professional to join an agile team for a 3-month contract, primarily remote with occasional site-based work. The role emphasizes test automation, API testing, and collaboration within Agile methodologies. Candidates must also be willing to undergo SC Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and design test scenarios and cases based on epic, story, and acceptance criteria analysis
  • Lead and participate in sessions to refine test scenarios and approaches
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress for Front End and Back End APIs
  • Perform API testing using Postman and Rest-Assured to validate RESTful web services
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Continuously improve and optimize the test automation framework
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain high coding standards
  • Monitor test execution within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and address failures
  • Implement monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Kibana, and K9s
  • Perform database validation using PostgreSQL
  • Collaborate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

  • Frontend Test Automation: Strong experience using Cypress
  • API Test Automation: Hands-on experience with Cypress, Postman, and Rest-Assured
  • Programming: Proficiency in JavaScript for Front End and Java for API development
  • CI/CD & Version Control: Experience with Jenkins and GIT
  • Testing Frameworks & Patterns: Familiarity with Page Object Model for UI automation
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Experience working with Kafka
  • Database Management: PostgreSQL experience for data validation and queries
  • Agile Methodologies: Comfortable working in Scrum/Agile teams
  • Excellent Communication: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
