Summary: The QA Tester role is a hands-on technical position focused on coordinating test activities and performing both manual and automated testing within Agile delivery teams. The position requires writing test documentation, executing various testing types, and collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. Active SC Clearance is required, and the role is hybrid, with two days per week on-site in Telford. The contract duration is six months, and the position is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate test activities and perform manual and automated testing on projects.
- Write Test Approach documents and define test activities, tasks, and deliverables.
- Document test coverage matrix and carry out Functional System Testing and Integration Testing.
- Support E2E testing on projects and analyze customer requirements and technical documentation.
- Identify test scenarios, write test scripts, and prepare test data for execution.
- Provide regular test status reports to Project Managers and raise project & product risks and issues.
Key Skills:
- ISTQB Software Foundation Certification.
- Experience in Functional System Testing and Test Automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
- Strong SQL, Oracle, or other database skills.
- ETL experience and AWS knowledge.
- Proficiency with JIRA and Test Management Tools (e.g., Jira Zephyr Scale).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Integration Testing and Agile methodology.

Role purpose / summary
This is a hands-on technical QA Role, The role will involve working in Agile delivery teams: Coordinating the test activities and performing manual and automated testing on projects. Writing a Test Approach document, Defining the test activities, tasks and deliverables. Documenting test coverage matrix on projects. Carrying out Functional System Testing and Integration Testing, Supporting E2E testing on one or more projects. Analysing customer requirements and technical documentation, Identifying test scenarios, writing test scripts (manual and automating tests), Test data preparation and executing manual and automated tests. This role requires an excellent understanding of test techniques and Risk Based Testing (RBT) in order to verify outcomes against the expected results. The QA will be working closely with the delivery team, key project stakeholders and other external supplier test teams to achieve successful delivery and the required business objectives. Providing regular test status reports to the Project Managers, identifying, and raising project & product risks and issues.
ISTQB Software Foundation Certification
Experience in Functional System Testing (writing and executing tests)
Experience of working in Test Automation (eg. BDD framework, API framework, python)
Experience of working with CI/CD pipeline (eg. GitLab, Jenkins)
Experience with Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Migration
Strong skills in SQL, Oracle, or other databases
ETL experience
AWS Experience
Ability to define and document Test Approaches and Test Completion reports
Proficiency with JIRA, Test Management Tools (e.g., Jira Zephyr Scale), Coordination of testing with external teams
