Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Buying teams to ensure product quality and value.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on product issues, due diligence, and customer complaints.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with buying teams, external stakeholders, and technical service providers.
  • Act as the primary contact for Quality Assurance queries within Buying.
  • Manage correspondence and information flow with internal and external parties.
  • Maintain knowledge of Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Proactively manage areas of responsibility and suggest system improvements.
  • Monitor due diligence and escalate compliance issues with suppliers.
  • Undertake training to stay updated with legislative and industry requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Technical experience in food manufacturing, Quality, or Retail.
  • Experience in managing suppliers.
  • Food expertise across various product areas and temperature regimes.
  • HACCP Level 3 certification.
  • Able to influence across all levels within the business.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident, professional, and articulate communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization and deadline management skills.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Your New Role

  • Support the Buying teams to ensure we are getting what we pay for
  • Use your technical experience to communicate with key stakeholders on product issues, routine due diligence, and customer complaints, to drive a quality culture across our supplier base
  • Develop and maintains positive working relationships with buying teams, external stakeholders, and technical service providers
  • Act as the go to person within Buying for all Quality Assurance queries
  • Manage the efficient and accurate flow of correspondence and information, both incoming and outgoing, with external and internal parties ensuring an ongoing understanding of current issues, proposing/ taking action where appropriate
  • Maintain full knowledge of the Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Actively manage areas of responsibility by using initiative and suggesting ways of improving systems for greater efficiency
  • Monitor/ measure due diligence throughout the business and take action where necessary to escalate in a timely manner and follow up compliance issues with suppliers
  • Undertake training to keep up to date with legislative and industry requirements

About You

  • Technical experience in food manufacturing, Quality or Retail
  • Experience in managing suppliers
  • Food expertise across several product areas/ temperature regimes
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Able to influence cross functionally and across all levels within the business
  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and part of a team
  • Confident, professional, and articulate
  • Able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Computer Literate: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • High level of attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working (Moving to 1 day remote working from January 2027)
