Summary: The role of Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector involves ensuring high standards of quality in welding and fabrication processes on a high-profile project in Barrow-in-Furness. The position requires a skilled individual with a valid CSWIP certification and extensive experience in welding inspection techniques. The inspector will support QA/QC processes within a multi-discipline team, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a contract position with an estimated duration of 6 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality inspection services before, during, and after welding in compliance with project requirements.
- Ensuring all work is executed safely with zero negative impact on personnel, the environment, or assets.
- Reading and interpreting procedures, policies, drawings, and job cards to guide inspection activities.
- Supporting construction teams with integrated QA/QC inspection services.
- Compiling complete and accurate quality documentation in accordance with standards.
- Applying knowledge of fabrication, NDT, and welding inspection techniques, including VT, PT, MT, and dimensional inspection.
Key Skills:
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector certification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Welding Inspector.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a QA/QC environment.
- Experience with VT, PT, and MT inspection techniques.
- CSWIP/PCN Level II in Penetrant Testing.
- PCN Level II in Magnetic Particle Inspection and Radiographic Interpretation (preferred).
- BGAS-CSWIP/ICorr/NACE Coatings Inspector Certification (preferred).
- Existing DV/SC Security Clearance (preferred).
