- Coaching process owners to maintain and update SOPs, Work instructions and training documents
- Developing and monitoring key performance indicators for Internal Quality
- Liaising with and advising production regarding quality results
- Participating in the study of operations and processes to recommend changes
- Meeting departmental objectives and goals
- Ensuring compliance to Operating Procedures through continuous assessment

The Company Our client is a leading name in several fields of manufacturing, with a major European and UK presence spanning numerous operational plants. We are presently seeking a Quality Manager for them to lead quality activities across manufacturing operations at their Manchester site, covering maternity leave.
The Role The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing the Quality management system to ensure awareness and effectiveness.
Job Summary You will provide a fast, efficient, and accurate response to customer complaints, internal quality issues and be the central driving force for improvements. As a data and process driven individual, you will bring your team members along with you and coordinate projects to improve and sustain quality to ensure the best possible service & product goes to our customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Designing quality standards, procedures and specifications
- Reviewing existing procedures to ensure they meet the current guidelines
- Testing products and service to ensure that they meet quality standards before launch and in line the testing schedule requirements
- Maintaining documentation of procedural changes
- Preparing performance reports for relevant stakeholders
- Collaborating with external vendors and suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards
- Ensuring that all processes meet safety, legal and other national or international standards
- Monitor internal data and trends to identify Quality issues and opportunities for improvement
- Addressing and responding to customer complaints and supplier quality issues.
- Liaising with the appropriate internal personnel to ensure the timely completion of 8D reports / Corrective Action reports – leading from the front during investigations and ensuring follow up.
- To carry out internal audits, creating “value adding” reports and ensuring that corrective actions are agreed upon and implemented as well as being communicated to the Management Team.
- Ensure all corrective actions are closed within the appropriate time period and to audit them for effectiveness.
- Responsible for the maintenance of records of quality assurance documentation.
- Coach process owners to maintain and update SOP’s, Work instructions and training documents and facilitate their control.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators for Internal Quality.
- Liaise with and advise production regarding quality results and interpretation thereof.
- Participate in the study of operations and processes and recommend changes to improve methods, procedures and operational efficiency.
- Meet departmental objectives and goals and deliver results.
- Ensure by continuous assessment that compliance to Operating Procedures takes place.
