Summary: The role is for a Quality Assurance Manager covering maternity leave in a Food FMCG business based in Manchester. The position involves overseeing critical quality assurance processes, managing internal audits, and leading crisis management efforts. The candidate will also be responsible for training and fostering a positive quality culture within the team. This role requires significant experience and specialized knowledge in quality assurance and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company’s A&B BRC annual certification.
- Manage HACCP, TACCP, Food Defence, Quality Systems, and document control processes.
- Drive initiatives to foster a positive product Quality & Safety Culture.
- Provide internal training on Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures.
- Manage Supplier Approval and Monitoring processes.
- Conduct and manage internal audits.
- Lead the Crisis Team in case of product withdrawal or recall.
- Review UK private label customer COPs and communicate key information to suppliers.
- Attend customer site visits and audits, including occasional international travel.
Key Skills:
- Graduate calibre or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a QA/Technical role and factory environment.
- Level 4 HACCP qualification.
- Familiarity with BRCGS requirements.
- Internal audit experience.
- Proven ability to carry out risk assessments.
- A positive, proactive approach with a strong ability to drive change.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of working cross-functionally and engaging with external stakeholders.
- Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
