Summary: The QA Lead role involves taking ownership of quality assurance within a growing engineering function, focusing on defining testing standards and improving quality processes. This hands-on leadership position requires active involvement in testing activities while mentoring other testers and shaping the overall QA strategy. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quality assurance activities across multiple products and projects
- Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices
- Develop and execute manual and automated test strategies
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Delivery teams to ensure quality is embedded from the outset
- Perform hands-on testing across web applications, APIs, and integrated systems
- Manage defect triage, root cause analysis, and release sign-off activities
- Champion continuous improvement across testing processes and tooling
- Mentor and support QA team members, helping to raise quality standards across the organisation
Key Skills:
- Significant experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance
- Previous experience in a QA Lead, Test Lead, or Senior QA position
- Strong understanding of Agile software delivery practices
- Experience creating test plans, test strategies, and quality frameworks
- Hands-on experience with functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Strong API testing experience using tools such as Postman
- Excellent defect management and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working closely with engineering teams throughout the SDLC
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tooling (desirable)
- Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) (desirable)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps environments (desirable)
