Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer role focuses on supporting the implementation of a project quality management program for a Major Oil & Gas operator, specifically in offshore compression. This long-term contract position requires a commitment of 6 days a week, 10 hours a day, and is based on-site in Qatar. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring effective quality management during procurement, fabrication, and installation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the project for implementing the project quality management program.
- Ensure effective implementation of Contractor’s quality management system.
- Maintain interfaces with Contractor to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Manage the Audit Universe and follow up on all finding closures.
- Provide feedback on quality issues and maintain project KPIs.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Head of Quality on quality performance.
- Conduct quality-related tasks as directed by the Head of Quality.
- Capture quality learnings from fabrication activities for process improvements.
- Manage fabrication quality issues and risks effectively.
- Participate in the vendor Pre-qualification process and performance evaluation.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- ISO 9001 Lead auditor certification.
- 4 years experience in Quality in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies.
- Knowledge of Industry standards.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decisions.
- Ability to manage development and implementation of Quality Management Systems.

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Quality Assurance Engineer specialising in offshore compression. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:
Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Purpose:
Supporting the project for implementing the project quality management program and ensuring the effective implementation of Contractor’s quality management system, during procurement, fabrication and installation activities of the NFPS Compression COMP3 project.
Key Accountabilities:
Reports functionally to Head of Quality.
Maintain interfaces with Contractor to ensure that quality issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Manage the Audit Universe by participating to the SAIPEM audit and follow up on all finding closure.
Provide feedback on quality issues; provide feedback on quality performance generally and maintain project KPI.
Providing continual communication, coordination and advice to the Head of Quality on the quality performance of the COMP3 Fabrication Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors.
Conduct other quality related tasks as directed by COMP3 Head of Quality
Lessons Learned process to continuously capture quality learnings from fabrication activities and to use them to develop and optimise process or specification improvements.
Issues and Risks management to ensure that fabrication quality issues and risks are captured and treated promptly and effectively.
Be part of the vendor Pre-qualification process and liaise with Share resources and EP&S for approval.
Coordinate the vendor performance evaluation during the project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
ISO 9001 Lead auditor certification.
Knowledge and/or Experience:
4 years experience in Quality in the Oil & Gas Industry
Experience with Oil & Gas companies, Contractors, or Service Companies.
Knowledge of Industry standards
Technical and Business Skills:
Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decisions using presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills
Ability to manage development and implementation of Quality
Management Systems adapted to Oil & Gas industry
Ability to interact with project management team and Contractors confidently
