Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for both functional and non-functional software testing, including the design of test cases and execution of test scenarios. This role involves collaboration with the Test Manager on estimation, risk management, and defect tracking. The position requires a strong background in Agile methodologies and automation testing. The role is hybrid, requiring two days a week onsite in Telford.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test cases and scenarios for software applications.
  • Report defects and monitor defect tracking.
  • Support the Test Manager in estimation, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Handle small modules and contribute to overall project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.

Key Skills:

  • SC cleared or eligible for SC clearance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Agile environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years testing experience with 3 years in automation.
  • Strong experience in leading a DevOps/Agile function.
  • Experience in web service/API testing using Soap UI.
  • Proficiency in Java, Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber, Jbehave, and CI tools like Jenkins.
  • In-depth knowledge of coding test automation scripts in Java (Scala desirable).
  • Strong ability to interpret testing requirements from various artefacts.
  • Experience in accessibility testing (Axe, Wave, NVDA, ZoomText, Voiceover).
  • Experience working with public sector clients such as DWP, HMCTS, and Home Office.
  • Good understanding of GDS standards and guidelines.
