Summary: The QA Engineer role in Manchester involves ensuring the quality and reliability of software through planning, coordinating, and executing tests within an Agile SCRUM team. The position requires collaboration with developers and stakeholders to meet business requirements and maintain high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing testing phases, designing test cases, and supporting automated testing strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Work within an Agile SCRUM team to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Review business requirements and define test conditions based on acceptance criteria.
- Plan and execute various testing phases, including functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
- Communicate effectively with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Provide accurate QA task estimates and assess the impact of changes on testing efforts.
- Design and execute test cases, track defects, and analyze results.
- Monitor test progress and report against planned timelines.
- Manage QA and UAT environments, including builds and deployments.
- Support the implementation of automated testing strategies.
- Maintain and update regression test packs.
- Assist business users with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and introduce best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including data protection, equal opportunities, and health & safety.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a QA/Test Analyst in an Agile SCRUM environment.
- Experience using Azure DevOps and working with Azure Test Plans.
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and testing best practices.
- Ability to define test techniques for both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience in Salesforce testing.
- (Bonus) Experience in the Energy Retail sector (Gas and Power) is a plus!
