Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer role in London involves designing, developing, and executing automated tests across various testing types, including functional and API testing. The position requires strong experience in automation testing, particularly with tools like xUnit and MS Playwright, and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. The engineer will collaborate with developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and will be responsible for maintaining automation frameworks and CI pipelines. This hybrid role necessitates a minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and relevant qualifications such as ISEB/ISTQB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests across the stack (Functional, Integration, End-to-End, Regression, UAT, API).
- Build and maintain automation frameworks using xUnit, NUnit, RestSharp (Backend) and MS Playwright with C# or TypeScript (Frontend).
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation documentation.
- Prioritize test scenarios and develop execution plans aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure full coverage of critical business functionality.
- Analyze test results, debug issues, log and track defects, and own them through resolution.
- Establish and support CI pipelines and apply DevOps principles to testing workflows.
- Maintain strong risk, quality, and defect-management controls using industry tools and techniques.
- Lead the creation, measurement, and oversight of the test strategy within the ASP Team.
- Coordinate and support UAT with business users.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvements in testing processes.
- Continuously learn and share new testing tools and technologies with the team.
Key Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in automation testing with xUnit, NUnit, MS Playwright, RestSharp.
- Experience in programming languages such as C# in Dotnet.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the testing competency.
- ISEB/ISTQB Qualifications.
- Solid experience in the implementation of the STLC throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines and Octopus.
