Summary: The QA Engineer role focuses on supporting functional testing for an API-driven trading and regulatory reporting platform within a prestigious global investment bank. The position requires comprehensive testing of trade booking workflows and collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance and system performance. This is a hybrid role based in Central London, with a contract duration of 12 months or more. The position offers a competitive daily rate of up to £600, classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive functional testing of API endpoints to ensure accurate and compliant trade booking workflows.
  • Support the transition of trading desks from legacy database-driven booking processes to a modern API-based system.
  • Execute detailed test scenarios and document results, raising and tracking defects as necessary.
  • Perform data validations in SQL and MongoDB databases to verify consistency and integrity post-transaction.
  • Validate JSON messages transmitted through Solace middleware for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and trading desks to resolve functional issues and improve system performance.

Key Skills:

  • MUST HAVE good understanding of front-office trading systems and booking workflows.
  • Proven experience in functional API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with automated API testing tools; experience with Parasoft is a plus.
  • Strong experience working with SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) for data validation.
  • Knowledge of messaging middleware such as Solace is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with both technical teams and trading desk stakeholders.
