Summary: The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of innovative products within the renewable energy sector. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of testing methodologies, focusing on manual testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes the importance of aligning product quality with business objectives and driving continuous improvements. The successful candidate will contribute to the design process and ensure comprehensive testing coverage of software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key driver for change, proactively influencing the team towards building the right products.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes by engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Conduct thorough coverage testing to ensure all aspects of the product meet requirements.
  • Perform comprehensive manual testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and usability of software products.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of projects, becoming a go-to person for quality-related knowledge.
  • Map user journeys to identify critical testing paths for a seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and contribute to software design.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
  • Contribute to improving testing processes and methodologies within the team.
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality and functionality of software releases.
  • Apply technical knowledge to understand system integration points, particularly via APIs.
  • Utilize database knowledge for data validation testing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of software testing best practices.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience (4+ years) as a Systems Tester, Quality Assurance Tester, Software Tester, or Manual Tester.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, X-Ray).
  • Demonstrable experience working within cross-collaboration teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Business savvy with an understanding of software products' impact on business outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial skills and a proactive approach to identifying improvements.
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
  • Some database knowledge and experience with data validation testing (e.g., SQL, DynamoDB).
  • Knowledge of end-to-end product testing.

Salary (Rate): £450
