Summary: The role of Contract Tester/QA Engineer at GlobalLogic involves creating testing and automation frameworks for key client projects within a Databricks Lakehouse environment. The successful candidate will perform both manual testing and develop automation scripts while ensuring data quality and documentation. This position requires hands-on experience in testing processes and collaboration within a team. The contract is inside IR35 and is expected to start ASAP for a duration of 3 months or more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create testing and automation frameworks for projects.
- Perform manual testing and develop test automation scripts.
- Implement QA findings and recommendations from data pipeline rebuilds.
- Conduct quick manual checks and write automation scripts for data correctness.
- Document QA engineering processes prior to handover.
- Design, implement, and execute test cases.
- Evaluate testing processes and make recommendations.
Key Skills:
- Commercial experience with unit testing and data quality frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Soda Core).
- Strong manual testing capabilities.
- Ability to write test automation scripts.
- Proficiency in Python and shell scripting (Bash).

We are seeking to hire an experienced Contract Tester/QA Engineer into our Engineering Practice for a key client project. This role is based in our UK&I region. This contract will be inside IR35. 3months+ to start ASAP.
About the role: The candidate that will succeed in this position will be able to create all the testing and automation frameworks as required for their projects. Both Manual Test, Test Automation Scripts and QA implementation of findings and recommendations from a Data Pipeline Rebuild across additional suitable Domains within a Client Databricks Lakehouse environment. The person must be capable to do quick manual checks (eg. null checks, it means "is_valid_from null etc) and also have to write automation scripts to check correctness of the data against key parameters. In addition, QA engineering documentation prior to handover.
Hands on experience required :
- Design, implement, and execute test cases
- Evaluate testing process, make recommendations as necessary
- Commercial experience with unit testing and data quality frameworks such as Pytest, Soda Core
- Strong manual testing capabilities and the ability to write test automation scripts
- Strong Python and shell scripting (Bash) skills
- Exposure to testing in data engineering projects is a significant plus
- Testing on Azure cloud platform
- Commercial and scalable track record as a QA Engineer
- Able to work as part of a team, collaborative and able to work on initiative and to project timescales
