Summary: The Quality Assurance Coordinator at CAF will ensure that the company's products and services meet high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role involves supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems, coordinating audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position is based in Manchester/Stockport and is part of a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining CAF's commitment to excellence in the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IRIS, RISQS, etc.).
  • Establish requirements for the implementation of ISO9001 and RISAS within new projects.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Investigate non-conformities, customer complaints, and quality issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support supplier quality assurance activities, including audits and performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality procedures and standards to staff.
  • Support maintenance, engineering, and procurement with compliant systems and processes in line with Rail Industry and UK standards.

Key Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., CQI, IRCA certification) are desirable.
  • Proven experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, ideally within the rail, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
  • Experience with audit processes and quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • A knowledge of Spanish would be beneficial but not essential.
