Summary: The role of Qualified Audit Officer involves supporting a public sector client in Scotland through a 1-3 month contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering complex financial, performance and best value audit work across public sector organisations
- Contributing to the planning, development and delivery of audits to agreed timelines and quality standards
- Conducting audit fieldwork, evidence gathering and data analysis using appropriate audit techniques
- Summarising findings and identifying key themes to support audit judgements and outputs
- Presenting clear, evidence-based audit findings for reporting and stakeholder use
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information gathering
- Managing multiple audit assignments simultaneously, ensuring delivery to cost, quality and time expectations
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAS or equivalent)
- Strong experience delivering audit engagements, ideally within complex environments
- Experience conducting audit fieldwork, financial analysis and evidence gathering
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear audit judgements
- Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience within the public sector is beneficial but not essential

Qualified Audit Officer - Scotland (Hybrid) - 1-3 Month Contract
One of Lorien's key public sector clients is looking for an experienced Qualified Auditor to join their team on an initial 1-3 month contract to support delivery across a range of audit engagements.
THIS IS A IR35 CONTRACT PAYING MARKET RATES
- Delivering complex financial, performance and best value audit work across public sector organisations
