QAQC Engineer

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a QA/QC Engineer (Quality Assurance & Quality Control Engineer) to join an M&E contractor working on a major project in the Hounslow Area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all M&E installation works are completed to the required quality standards, project specifications and relevant regulations.

You will work closely with the project management, engineering, commissioning and site teams to monitor quality throughout the installation and ensure that all works are correctly inspected, tested and documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the project's QA/QC processes and procedures.
• Carry out regular inspections of M&E installation works to ensure they meet project specifications, drawings and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure inspections are completed at the required stages of the works.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks on mechanical and electrical installations.
• Review installation works against approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Identify defects, non-conformances and areas of poor workmanship and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Raise and manage NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) where required.
• Work closely with site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure all required inspection and testing documentation is completed accurately and maintained throughout the project.
• Review and maintain QA/QC records, inspection sheets, test certificates and handover documentation.
• Assist with the preparation and compilation of O&M manuals and handover documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor quality and ensure works are being completed in accordance with agreed standards.
• Attend quality inspections and meetings with the client, principal contractor and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with the review of technical documentation, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure relevant works are inspected and signed off before progressing to subsequent stages of installation.
• Support the commissioning team by ensuring installation and testing records are complete and accurate.
• Monitor the quality of works through to completion and handover.
• Promote a strong quality culture across the site and challenge poor-quality workmanship where necessary.

Experience & Qualifications

• The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Previous experience working as a QA/QC Engineer, Quality Engineer or Quality Inspector within an M&E/construction environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations.
• Experience working with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets and quality documentation.
• Experience raising and closing NCRs and managing corrective actions.
• Good understanding of construction quality processes and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand M&E drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience working with subcontractors and site installation teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality control.
• Experience working on large-scale, technically complex projects.
