Key Responsibilities:

On behalf of DWP we are looking for a QA Tester for a 12 month (Inside IR35) contract. Hybrid working with 3 days per week in either Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As such, we operate on a scale that is almost unmatched anywhere in Europe and most people in Britain come into contact with us at some point in their lives. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
- Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation

This role represents a unique opportunity to join the DWP Place team within DWP Digital. We’re looking for a driven and passionate QA Tester who would like to be part of a team delivering real value to DWP and citizens alike. As a QA Tester you will be responsible for defining, building and executing test solutions that help to assure the quality of products that make up DWPs Digital services. You will be responsible for testing all areas of DWP Place including but not limited to functional and business requirements. You will work alongside other QA Testers both within the team and the wider community to deliver consistent solutions.
Essential:
- An understanding of functional and non-functional testing techniques, and experience of Test principles (ISTQB etc).
- Ability to review requirements and specifications; create test conditions, create test scripts and test data.
- Ability to execute test scripts in accordance with acceptance criteria and requirements to tight deadlines.
- Ability to raise and manage defects and help prioritise them based on defect priority and severity using defect management tools.
- ServiceNow experience.
Desirable:
- Public Sector experience.
- Accessibility Testing experience.
